We just got back from a mini vacation in Cocoa Beach, FL. We had the BEST time, but it went by too fast! We only went from Wednesday to Saturday and we’ve already decided that next time we go back, it’ll definitely be for a full week. Traveling with a 10 month old can be difficult and we haven’t done so in 6 years so we felt like rookies all over again!
We rented the cutest little AirBNB (linked here). If you are looking for a short term rental in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral, check this place out! It’s a 3-unit building so you can rent one unit or the whole place! It’s a block from the beach and close to allll the best restaurants!
My parents came with us which made the trip so much smoother – they’re a big help with the kids and they even gave Justin & I the chance to slip away and enjoy a meal together on Justin’s birthday. Friday night, we made a trip over to Medieval Times in Orlando. The seats were sticky and everything was ridiculously overpriced, but Jonah had a BLAST so that made it all worth it. All in all, the trip was a success.
Weeks prior to leaving, I made an “essentials” shopping list, steadily added more and more things to my Walmart.com cart, and then had it all delivered the day before we left. I’m so glad I did it this way, because it gave me time to really think about everything I needed without having to go inside Walmart (which is always a win!). It feels like anytime I go into Walmart or any grocery store for that matter, my mind goes blank and I never end up buying everything that I need.
My list of essentials for going on a beach vacation with a baby is:
•3 pack bottles
•Formula packets (these are genius)
•Neutrogena SPF 100 sunscreen
•swim diapers
•sun hat
•baby powder (for getting sand off)
•fold up beach blanket
We made sure to take an umbrella to the beach that she could nap under and it was a lifesaver! We took a pop up tent too but didn’t even need it since we had the umbrella. Having all of these essentials on hand made our trip so stress-free. I hope they help you on your next vacation!
